Getaway to New York:
Your 4-day tour to experience of Cuban culture in New York City is waiting!
In addition to the hit Broadway show, “Buena Vista Social Club”, you’ll experience a side of NYC you never knew about. Relish live Cuban music, cool fall weather, and see the city from the water and from the rooftops.
This is a no-hassle experience of NYC with a guide to handle all the details and enrich your New York City experience.
Day 1: Welcome to New York!
Once you settle in, our group will go out to Guantanamera. Enjoy live Cuban music, mojitos, and your favorite Cuban comfort food near Columbus Circle.
Meals: Dinner
Day 2: Broadway, Baby!
We’ll start our day with the best of Central Park with the perfect mix of pedicab comfort and up-close exploration to take in all the sights and sounds of the Big Apple during fall.
Our pedicabs drivers will teach about all the special spots in the park’s southern end, covering the 1.71-mile lower loop. Stops include Bethesda Terrace, Cherry Hill & Fountain, and Strawberry Fields.
We’ll have a quick lunch and stop at the hotel to freshen up before the big show, only a 10-minute walk from our hotel.
We will be catching the afternoon matinee showing of the Buena Vista Social Club on Broadway. Lose yourself in the dancing, romantic Cuban guitarra, and the allure of Havana in the 1930s.
After the show, you can enjoy some free time at the hotel or explore the neighborhood. Dinner this evening will be at Mercado Little Spain, a gourmet hall filled with stalls and eateries, offering everything from casual bites to sit-down meals.
After dinner, we’ll go to The Skylark’s rooftop bar to enjoy the city lights from above. Salud! Your rooftop cocktail is included in the tour.
Meals: Breakfast, (rooftop cocktail)
Day 3: Explore El Barrio
After breakfast at the hotel, get your walking shoes on for this fun, photogenic day!
We’ll take the subway to East Harlem, and en route see Grand Central Terminal, one of the most-visited destinations in NYC for a reason. It has history, architecture, dining, and shopping, all under one magnificent roof.
Our local guide will take us through East Harlem, also known as “El Barrio,” a vibrant showcase of Caribbean culture.
Look forward to exhibits at El Museo del Barrio that reflect the local culture, as well as the neighborhood's colorful street art and murals, some made by famous graffiti artists like Keith Haring.
Our included lunch will be at Amor Cubano, where there are many Cuban favorites, including the Habana Arepa, stuffed with Ropa Vieja and cheese.
We’ll have a little time at the hotel before we go out to our sunset with panoramic views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Lower Manhattan, and New York Harbor, and of course, the Statue of Liberty.
Enjoy a special farewell dinner at Epistrophy, a restaurant with Sardinian roots, serving rustic Italian dishes and natural wines. This may rival our favorite authentic Italian restaurant in Havana!
Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 4: Hasta Pronto!
We enjoy our final breakfast and say, “so long for now!” to our fellow Cuba aficionados, relishing the new friends we made and the Cuban cultural journey that we enjoyed together in the Big Apple.
